Jim E. Dummitt rode off into the sunset January 15, 2015 at his home with his family at his side after a 2 year battle with cancer.

He married Sally Ross Chilewski in March 1967 in Oklahoma. Jim grew up in Oklahoma. He served 9 years in the Air Force. He was a rural mail carrier out of Friendship retiring in 2001. He was a member of Quincy Lodge #71, Scottish Rite, Royal Arch and the Shrine.

His hobbies were riding his motorcycle, restoring Model T’s, amateur radio operator and woodworking.

Jim was very family oriented and enjoyed having his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren around him. Jim was preceded in death by parents, father and mother-in-law Evert and Marion Ross, and son-in-law, Rick Bartram.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sally; son, J.C. (Angela) of Friendship; daughters: Judy (Loren Olson) Hanson of Scandinavia, Kathy (Rick) Rosenau of Ogdensburg, Lori (Roger Schoenstene) Bartram of Hancock; “Adopted son” Chris (Vicki Jorgenson) Hedding of Oaks, ND; Grandsons: Cody (Angela) Sharpless of Scandinavia, Vincent (Mary Swenson) Larsen of Friendship, Christopher (Billy Post) Larsen of Zion, IL, Joey (Danielle) McElwee of Waupaca, Dustin (Dani Downey) Bartram of Hancock, Austin (Sydney Babcock) Dummitt of Friendship, Ricky Dummitt of Friendship, Brayde Rosenau of Ogdensburg, and Blayk Rosenau of Ogdensburg; Granddaughters: Amy (Steve) Shadick of Menasha, Brandie (Tyler) Lucht of Plainfield, Danielle (Cliff Cornell) McElwee of La Crosse, 14 great-grandchildren, cousins, a large extended family and many friends.
